Dickson Minto has a reputation for being one of the best corporate law
firms where hard work is well rewarded. We like to keep it that way which
is why we like to recruit the best. That is why we provide one of the best recruitment packages in the profession
for our trainees.
Those who joined us last September started on a salary of £20,000
per annum which will rise to £22,000 per annum in their second year.
Depending on performance a discretionary bonus is paid to second year
trainees with their December pay.
Professional Competence Course (PCC) fees, estimated at £1,400 are
paid by DM while the period of the PCC is treated as additional paid
holiday. On holidays, 23 working days per annum are allowed plus public
holidays currently running at eight per annum.
Trainees are based in the Edinburgh office initially. On secondment to
London, an additional allowance of £20 per day is paid and accommodation
is free. A monthly return flight between London and Scotland is provided.
If, having accepted a traineeship with DM, diploma funding is not available,
the firm will meet the cost of Diploma tuition fees. This is non-returnable
provided the traineeship is completed at DM.
Life assurance of four times basic salary and a group earnings replacement scheme are also provided. Trainees are invited to join the DM Group Personal
Pension Scheme which includes an employer contribution of three per cent
of salary. Free independent financial and planning advice is also available.
Finally, we recognise that it is not easy coming out of university and
into a leading corporate law firm. There may be bills to be cleared or
the odd suit to be bought. So up to 25 per cent of starting salary may
be taken in advance if required. |
